One of the surprising side effects of testing Waitroom internally is that it has built a really strong team culture.
As a 100% remote team with diverse cultures and backgrounds, we were pleasantly surprised to see how much it has strengthened our team culture. Our team pulse surveys have shown a significant increase in engagement and we are proud of the strong bond we have formed. Despite never meeting in person, we have built a strong, cohesive team that is very comfortable working together.
Having a dedicated weekly Waitroom session for team members to connect and discuss non-work related topics has played a vital role in bringing us closer together and enhancing our team culture.

Building a great remote company culture is really hard. Some of the most common problems and how having regular Waitroom culture-building sessions solves them:
- Building camaraderie: By having regular water-cooler meetings, team members can connect with one another on a personal level and feel less isolated.
- Enhancing communication: Team members can stay informed about what is happening in each other's lives, and build stronger relationships. This can help to improve communication and reduce misunderstandings.
- Strengthening trust: Water cooler sessions are a great way to get to know each other better and build trust more naturally.
- Improving collaboration: Participants can learn to work together in a different context, which can help to improve collaboration.
- Fostering company culture: By discussing non-work topics, colleagues can bond over shared interests and build a stronger sense of community and culture.
- Effective management: Managers can get to know their team members better and build stronger relationships, which can help to improve communication and provide more effective feedback.
