When hosting meetings on Rumi, you can control how guests join your sessions using a simple but powerful setting. Let's explore how to manage who can enter your meetings and when.
Controlling Guest Access
"Guests must request access before joining"
This simple toggle gives you control over your meeting's accessibility. Let's see how it works in both states:
When Enabled ✅
- Guests will need to request permission to join your meeting
- You'll be notified when someone requests access
- Perfect for when you want to screen participants
- Great for client meetings, interviews, or sensitive discussions
- You can approve or deny requests as they come in
Guests need to ask for access to the meeting when this setting is enabled. If the guest was expressly invited via our Dashboard or a calendar plugin, they will not need to request access.
When Disabled 🔓
- Anyone with the link can join directly
- Guests enter by simply providing their name
- Ideal for open meetings and broader audiences
- Perfect for team meetings, all-hands, or community events
- Maintains a smooth, frictionless experience for participants
